I've come to a decision... And I'll be leaving in a day or so. On the whole, the existing obligations in my world outweigh the potential ones here.

Besides which, I miss someone who's still there.

To those of you I've come to know, it's been an education. Both good and bad, I suppose, but an education, nonetheless.

Perhaps, one day, I'll return. But for now, I've things to set straight.

To those of you who still remain, whatever your status, you'll be in my thoughts.

Please see to the attached list of requirements being made possible for the associated length of times. I believe it to be of paramount importance to my inmate's graduation.

My thanks in advance, should this be possible.

Day X

The negation of my usual enhanced abilities has proved somewhat troublesome during my expedition. I've no idea how many people are called 'Verona' here, which means it's probably useless putting out a call for my inmate and hoping for the best.

Still, at least I've an idea of her location. It's just getting there which is the sticking point. I'm not nearly so agile or fast as I've grown accustomed to being, which means having to face this as though I've been incapacitated.

It's an odd sort of place... Reminds me of some kind of futuristic Soviet Union, if they'd embraced Capitalism. Although, without whatever currency's acceptable here, my options are a lot more limited.

For those of you who, like me, are having to scout around for your assignment, it's relatively easy to keep your head down. It's hardly the most pristine of places, but dress accordingly, hide your face where you can and keep in mind your body language. What you'll have to be mindful of is electronic monitoring - of which, I don't doubt, there's a fair amount.

I won't be hurrying back too quickly, of course, as we're all aware what the ship's now capable of doing to unauthorised personnel attempting to board it.

[OOC: The ship, so far as I'm aware, is actually defenceless, but Selene's aware her communications are probably being monitored and is bluffing to try and buy the rest of you some time.]
full_metal_corset: (Computer)
Admiral, please restore my inmate's journal privacy to her. I believe her apology to be genuine and heartfelt. She's making real steps forward.

With the recent crisis over, I trust the rest of you will understand if I relax my observation of Verona. She's hereby free to roam.
full_metal_corset: (Watchful)
My thanks to those who provided the recent influx of nourishment. Had I known the objective, I would have gladly helped.

Verona seems still unwilling to accept what she needs to. I've been keeping her company, speaking when asked, playing chess and such. Providing her with human and animal donations, as and when its supplied. The one thing I've refused are visits from Aleera (who, strangely, seems to be resigned to accepting this), since she needs an incentive to get out, aside from just the promise of freedom.

If nothing changes, though, I'll be forced to withdraw even my company.

How, I wonder, would she have reacted, were our positions reversed?

I wonder, also, how I'll feel when my duties are done. I'll miss her, I think, should she decide to leave.
full_metal_corset: (Default)
I feel I should point out Verona's indiscretion is being dealt with, for those of you who might have wondered. I'll be continuing to administer her meals, as well as keeping her company, for the duration. There's no sense in denying her nutrition at this stage. It would only allow the onset of hunger to return sooner, rather than later.

This will continue until I find myself unable to continue in my duties. Prospective volunteers to replace me at that time would be welcomed.

It was foolish and misguided, but, to a certain extent, understandable... Please don't use this as an opportunity for cruelty - you'll have me to deal with, if you do. Her freedom's being restricted until she learns why status doesn't entitle her to take from others without permission.
full_metal_corset: (Default)
In view of my inmate's recent actions, please end her ability to shield journal entries from my eyes. She's going without freedom until realising that, hungry or not, taking without consent is wrong.

As a further request, to assist in our present situation, whether you could supply a sample of synthetic blood from my world, as manufactured by Ziodex Industries. I feel it would be of significant use in helping to alleviate matters.

Rations

full_metal_corset: (Aftermath)
Admiral, if you're reading, I'd like to impress upon you how urgent our plasma situation is getting... Or the lack of it.

It seems we have temporary solutions, but these are insufficient, at best. By my calculations, there simply isn't enough to go around at any kind of comfortable rate. Rationing only goes so far between so many of us.

I, for one, am starting to experience irritability. If I seem more... Argumentative, then I apologise in advance, but I don't doubt others might be undergoing worse symptoms.

Private - Max:
Max, I may require your assistance in the near future...

If things persist, I may run the danger of lashing out. 'Frenzying', for want of a better word. It's not something I wish to undergo.

If there's anyone you can trust? Someone empowered, like yourself. You might need to work with them to subdue me. I'm not being egotistical when I say you could both be at risk.

Private - Doctor McCoy:
Doctor McCoy, you remember what I once told you about my condition. I feel it's my duty to warn you that, if the situation gets particularly drastic, I won't be in control of my actions. If I do end up attacking someone, the bite should prove lethal. If not, however, please keep any such victims under strict observation. Ideally, in level zero.

I've no idea how my... Evolved genetics might affect anyone I infect.

Private - Toshiko:
Ms Sato, I don't have to impress upon you how dangerous this could become. Should I find myself too unfocused to continue in my duties, I'll need to make sure Verona is placed in confinement - quite possibly against her will. I don't know how this might affect Aleera, but if you've drawn up contingency plans, please keep me advised.
full_metal_corset: (Default)
I'm informed you happen to warden the creature presently claiming responsibility for what's just happened. Please carry out a thorough search of his room. We need to get to the bottom of this.

If you require assistance, I'll provide it.
full_metal_corset: (Default)
I'm not sure if anyone's put the word out, but I assisted Warden Scott with as much of a scan as his technology allows for and nothing hazardous was discovered.

In case you've been avoiding the area, whatever caused the deaths is either no longer in evidence or is so undetectable that we'll probably never know if it's about or not.

Either way, consider this as close to a declaration of the area being safe as any of us are likely to get...

I can also verify the sudden lack of blood supply. Admiral, if this can be rectified, I'd appreciate it.

Private - Verona:
I've retained a supply in case of just such an eventuality. It's limited, but I'll be sharing what I have with you. Hopefully, this will be over before I run out of it.

Hazards

Mar. 16th, 2010 09:31 pm
full_metal_corset: (Horror)
It's probably too late by now, but would like to voice my concern that the area in question should be quarantined, if it's truly as bad as some are reporting.

Assuming the cause of it's still hanging around, even if you, yourself, can survive it, I can't see it's a spectacularly good idea to get infected and spread the stuff around... If anyone must go inside, I suggest they do so in some sort of biohazard suit - should we even have any.

May I ask the medical staff how they hope to seal the area off to prevent further contamination?

Oddities

It seems there's an outbreak of either confused scheming or genuine happiness. If that's as hectic as things are going to get, for the time being, then I'm glad of it.

Even so, I do rather miss the way things used to be for me. Not so much why I hunted, for I know that now to have been a lie, but... The combat, itself. It's what comes of you after so long in pursuit of a single goal, I suppose. A routine.

I wonder if, should I stay here long enough, another variety might overcome me. Whether I might find myself back home, taken by the sudden urge to... Rehabilitate someone. Or bracing myself for a sudden and dramatic change in reality.

Or if I'll even choose to remember any of it.

Confusion

I don't know what the bloody hell's going on, but Verona, it would probably be a good idea to keep to your cabin, for the time being.
full_metal_corset: (Computer)
I wonder if you'd like to accompany me either on deck or to the enclosure?

It's perhaps time we had that discussion...
full_metal_corset: (Think)
Sir,

It appears my inmate, a bloodthirsty, undead bride of Dracula, has become somwhat... Involved with your own. A man who, from what I understand, has issues with women, formidable physical attributes and an unhealthy interest in general carnage.

Up until this point, my progress with her had been going better than expected. For obvious reasons, this pairing seems rather detrimental to that - and yours, I expect.

I've just had a request by her for them both to spend some time in our native habitat enclosure and, for obvious reasons, I'm loathe to grant it, but stated I would communicate with you, before making any decision.

This leaves us two options:

1: Deny them. This could cause resentment and a severe unwillingness to co-operate.

2: Allow them. At least it's a moderately relaxing environment, which might assist their rehabilitation... But this also increases the chances of further bonding - if not scheming.

I await your decision with interest.

I'd also like to point out that this entire situation is not without considerable irony for my own before arriving here...
full_metal_corset: (Sad)
For those of us who've had to leave a partner behind, I suspect this is not the most conducive of environments for... 'Fun'.

Verona, I don't have the same nocturnal requirements as yourself, but will accompany you to our lodgings, as soon as possible. You know what you shouldn't do and I'll be retaining supplies of nutrition.

That is all.
full_metal_corset: (Default)
A variety of enhanced human appears to be aboard and is determined to cause random destruction. 'Victor Creed' or 'Sabretooth' seem to be the names he goes by and I doubt he's interested in making friends.

Needless to say, it would be counterproductive for either of us to get involved.
full_metal_corset: (Default)
This might seem a little soon, but would any of the medical staff object to my inmate, Verona, assisting in some fashion?

I'll mark her down as being so, if nobody has any problems. I assume her vampiric sister, Aleera, can show her the proverbial ropes.

Aftermath

Good God...

Is that who, what I could have become? I know - I remember - the reasons for it, but this does nothing to allay me of... The horrific inevitability of it all.

I have memories of that other world. A past which had not been. For me. But what of it? What of those other selves? They couldn't have simply been constructed, then and there, could they? It just seemed so very... Intricate in its detail.

Does there exist, somewhere, another place like this? Somewhere those versions of us are carrying on in such a manner?

I hadn't even realised Viktor's lies there... How very arrogant I was.

Verona, Rani - you have my deepest thanks for what you did. Both of you. Please do not allow this to colour your perception of, as I now am.

It's already colouring mine...
full_metal_corset: (Horror)
This is an official announcement: Ushas is wanted for attempted harm and murder of a warden - without consent.

Namely, myself.

Consider her armed with hazardous chemical and biological equipment, classifying her a priority threat. Along with McCoy and apparently others, this is making for a disturbing trend of fugitive. I suggest those of you with inmates make an effort to clamp down on their security and find out what you can.

Verona, once I have... Recovered, I'll be along to do as needed. I've unlocked your room, for the time being.

[OOC: This happened!]
